The Ellijay Telephone Company has been around for over 100 years. They offer both wired and wireless phone service. They provide installation, sales, and support for residential and business phone systems. Known to most as E-T-C they provide cable TV service and Internet services, both cable and DSL. The company also provides services in Ball Ground, Jasper, and Blue Ridge Georgia.  In addition to being the LEC in their area they are a CLEC in markets outside their territory.  They understand the need for good broadband and communications services and have expanded to meet the needs in other areas.  They offer voice, data, video, and internet services to their customers. They serve both residential and commercial customers with a variety of products through their fiber optic network.

OneTone Telecom

Rural Oconee County SC, population 75,000, took it upon themselves to bring high-speed connectivity to residents and businesses, despite obstruction by a telecommunications giant.  Oconee FOCUS applied for funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to obtain funds for the project, oversaw implementation, customer connectivity, and transition to OneTone.  Oconee FOCUS installed a 240-mile fiber optic network that has grown to over 350 miles. 

In 2016 Oconee County Focus signed an agreement with OneTone Telecom for a 20 year fiber network lease to buy.  OneTone provides a number of communication services (voice, broadband, internet, and LD) to assist business and residential customers in Oconee County along with the security of providing secure connections to local, state, and federal governments.  Providing high speed effective broadband services was the goal of Oconee County and with the help of OneTone Telecom they are seeing this goal achieved. 

OneTone serves Oconee County and the surrounding areas through both fixed wireless and fiber deployments.

Ringgold Telephone Company

Ringgold Telephone Company (RTC) was established in 1912 by Jim Evitt Sr.  The company, now a thriving, modern telecom provider, is owned and operated by Evitt’s granddaughter, Alice Evitt Bandy.  RTC primarily serves Ringgold, GA, with traditional telecommunications services.  Additionally, RTC builds and maintains various dark fiber networks in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.  With RTC’s help, many bandwidth constrained communities have benefitted from newly installed, state-of-the-art fiber equipment which provides seamless connectivity.

STI announces new underground fiber routes and colocation facilities are being planned and constructed as part of a network fiber strategy across the Southeast. Existing aerial cables will be replaced with new underground fiber featuring increased capacity, higher fiber counts and state-of-the-art technology to enable more flexibility for STI’s current and future customers.

STI is constructing and evaluating several new routes around the Southeast. There are over 700 miles currently under construction, primarily as part of joint projects. The company is also seeking route joint build partners and customers for other existing routes and potential greenfield projects.
